kennysarmy Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 On Monday I received an email from ViewSonic advising: We’re excited to announce the global launch of myViewBoard 3.0 — an intuitive, more engaging, and inclusive whiteboarding experience designed to meet today’s diverse classroom needs. So I thought I'd start doing some testing and downloaded the ZIP file from their link. Previously this had been an MSI (version 2's) but now it's an MSIX and a prerequisite file : Microsoft.NET.CoreRuntime.2.2.appx When I add the MSIX (myViewBoardV3_3.2.0.749_x64.msix) to Intune and then point at the dependencies file they provide I'm faced with the attached. There install instructions merely state: 【myViewBoard 3.0 for Windows Installation Guide】 Thank you for using myViewBoard 3.0 for Windows. This compressed file contains all the necessary components to install myViewBoard 3.0 for Windows. Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth installation and proper operation of the application. 📁 Package Contents: 1. myViewBoardV3_(version no.)_x64.msix – myViewBoard 3.0 for Windows installer 2. kennysarmy Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 I've now managed to get hold of two of the dependencies, but the 3rd, this one "Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00 x64 14.0.30035.0" I'm struggling to find an APPX file I can download from the Internet, anyone any ideas?
MisterTechMan Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I am also trailing v3 I deployed it as a Microsoft Store App as it's now in the store - this may be easier? 1
kennysarmy Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Good thinking. I presume it's the middle one?
MisterTechMan Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 That's correct! I do like the new version, however I have sent some feedback for improvements to Viewsonic. There is no longer the ability to move the toolbar as you could in V2.
kennysarmy Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Thanks, Should install behaviour be left on User or can I amend it to System so it installs for everyone?
MisterTechMan Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I believe we chose System for our Tutor PC's to ensure it's installed despite who logs on. 1
kennysarmy Posted July 2, 2025 Author Posted July 2, 2025 Great. All installed. Now Smoothwall is causing this error : "Please confirm that TCP port 443 (HTTPS) and the domain - *myviewboard.com are allowed in your network setup and then try again." OK when I bypass the Smoothwall, myviewboard.com is unfiltered. Call opened with Smoothwall.
