Endpoint Software Audit

What would be the best/quickest (preferred free) option to do an audit of all computers and what software is running on each? Potentially an agent that can be deployed by GPO (MSI) collect all the information then from a console either view my PC name or Software name, and which computers that particular version is installed on?

Anything that just uses port 443 or runs locally? Firewall is external, saves raising a change request.
