That should be under the contract no? Sorry to ask! Hoping we do not get into this situation. Kind regards. snowman
Brummytech Posted June 28, 2025 Author Posted June 28, 2025 Hi - so we are trying to get a trust wide solution but Entrysign are on rolling contracts as the other schools in the trust are stuck to 2027 - (With Inventry) Would like a backup console to avoid the 3 year contract - We can then negiotate with 7 schools to a new solution - as we can just put backup image on if one fails. I have found some similar Asus machines but rather than risk ebay wanted to see if anyone could help me out Thanks
Warwick_Tech Posted June 30, 2025 Posted June 30, 2025 We have a couple going for scrap in a few weeks; but I thought they were just generic tablets? I can certainly see to send the scanners in the post, but the actual tablets might be difficult due to GDPR and would need to be wiped completely...

AFAIK, at least with InVentry, the touchscreen PC is considered your property, and is part of the upfront payment for the initial install. They come with a warranty for a few years, but after that you're paying for any replacements yourself. N.B. if you're on the V4 hardware, that came with Windows 10 LTSB 2015, you'll need to ask for a backup as part of a recovery process (free in your support contract, just need to post them a USB stick to put the LTSC 2021 image on, and agree a date to backup the database, followed by you installing their image, then they will take over the rest remotely via TeamViewer) if you want to keep getting Windows updates after October.

Hi Happy to take/collect you can remove the harddrive if the is a gdpr concern - They are normally just on the side. Yes its more that how they install for our sites its going through trunking via plasterboard walls etc and if we went generic we would have to re run power etc. (They are in reception so I would rather just swap in situ when a machine goes down)

Yes exactly we have done this route but now Redstor puts it back where its needed. Its just a stop gap till we can turn around have all sites ready for one solution (Probably sign in app) and then can say we have 7 sites what price can you do. Then its a percentage discount for all the install parts (Gets pricey with mounts/printers) and then if they can do anything with the subscription. Its worth a ask on this forum as if a machine fails and Inventry can supply the machine/setup quicker it will be another contract....
