Trying to use MDT to image onto 24h2. Everything works fine when I run the task on a server VM>

However , on the first desktop i've ran the sequence on it applies the operating system, gets to 200% then errors out with FAILURE: Verify BCDBootEX return code 0x80004005

execution of task failed.

it must be machine specific as works on a VM.

Anyone able to assist/advise ?

Hi there, this could be a driver issue. The other issue I have encountered tends to be if the machines HDD is configured in RAID mode and the RST driver isnt correct. I normally switch them over in BIOS to AHCI as the OS is being rebuilt anyway. I would download the latest drivers for that machine and any others and then fully regenerate the boot image and try again. I have 24H2 deploying through MDT without issue.

The simple answer is/was factory reset the BIOS!
