lmgtfy Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 Happy sunny afternoon to all, Like many other schools, we were recently forced to move from Scomis-hosted SIMS to SIMS Connected. Since the switch, we've had quite a few complaints from teachers about slowness and downtime. After speaking to some other schools, I don’t believe it’s just us experiencing this. Occasionally, when the downtime lasts longer than 15 minutes, they update their status page – although that has now stopped working since they moved to their new (and unfortunately worse) support portal. For those of you who have been using SIMS Connected for longer: is the sluggish performance most mornings just something we have to get used to, or do you think it will improve over time as they scale up to support more schools? Thanks
3s-gtech Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 Two years in for us - no, it hasn’t improved much. When it goes, it goes hard. It pays to have a plan B.
PotNoodleTech Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 (edited) Welcome to SIMS connected. Where they take an already slow SIMS server and then put it behind remote desktop VDI so that everythings even slower. Thats progress!! Edited May 9, 2025 by PotNoodleTech
