3CX Desktop App Configuration

Has anyone got deployment of the 3CX desktop app to work without manual configuration from the user?

 

V20 seems it has to be deployed from the Microsoft Store. This is fine, I can use InTune. There is a config file, that can be preconfigured and put in ProgramData, to configure it during install. Except this seems to do nothing, and I've not found any logs that tell me if it's even trying to use it.

 

The XML template has a lot of settings I don't need. I don't know what I'm allowed to remove, and what has to stay in.

 

What I really want to achieve is that the users just open 3CX, and click the SSO Microsoft button to connect. I don't want to manually configure exensions, or SIP trunks or anything else, and I don't really want to have to use 'Welcome' emails.

 

Is this possible?

As far as I remember, this is what we had.  Open app, enter login details or SSO, and away we went.  Didn't need any technical details, I don't even remember using the config file.

Do they need the app, can they not use the web client?
