Hi everyone,

First time poster as I'm completely new at timetabling using Nova T6 and I'm having a major stress....

We had always previously timetabled using Keith Johnson, then importing it into SIMS. However, our Trust are insisting that all schools use Nova T6. The worst part is that given that our KJ subscription ran out in March and is not allowed to be renewed, I have had to build my timetable from scratch midway through the year in Nova.

The issue is that the curriculum structure in the SQL database is already there (from the KJ import) and I am struggling to link the newly created Nova T6 structure. I am getting loads of the "orange" errors. When I click on one of these errors, there is no way of linking the group on the left with the corresponding group on the right. The central "link" button just doesn't work.

I need to send the timetable to SIMS but am petrified of losing all the class lists etc and having to start that process again. Is there a way of matching the structures up once it's in SIMS?

It would have been loads easier to be allowed to do this at the end of an academic year, but I'm not allowed!

Many thanks if any kind sould has had to deal with such an issue before and can offer advice!

This may be horribly out of date information but.. back when I was on the support team and we were just an attendance add on to SIMS. We used to field these sorts of queries where the SIMS timetable had been rewritten for the tail end of the academic year (classic year 9 trying out their new year 10 curriculum). In order to get this to work you had to effectively but a cut in your academic calendar within SIMS and apply the new structures to that instead.
This was because the solution was, at that time, only able to have a single curriculum structure applied at once. Thus you needed to create that break in order to apply a different structure.
This may or may not help..
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Thank you so much @Bromcom_John . Much appreciated. In then end, we have just settled on manually manipulating the teaching staff and classes allocated to the groups, rather than try and do a full reload. After all, it's just one term, and we aren't going to be doing any changes other than that. We will obviously take the hit when we change the timetable next year. I do like the idea of a cut though. Thans again

Don't know if it would have worked as your previous timetables were submitted into SIMS from KJ.....but in Nova-T6 you can go to Data > Load Dataset > Create Construction Dataset, give the dataset a name and date range and then set the data source to SQL Dataset. This then allows you to select previous datasets (timetables) that are in the SIMS database. I'm assuming if your current (KJ) timetable was available to select and you created a new T6 dataset from that, then the SQLCodes would have remained the same......
