GeoBook 1E fast boot

Hi, I have been decommissioning the GeoBook 1e laptops from 2020 because they are no longer use to us and we was secure erasing the drives from them through our pxe boot hardware. However after turning off secure boot and fast boot on the devices it seems they are now having an issue with booting at all. The led lights up green but there is no life from the device to show it is working again like it has completely died for no reason. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Yeah, the only use any Geobook has is stress relief via percussive scheduled disassembly. Relieves stress, destroys data.

These are fragile devices where simple changes can cause them to not power on. Unfortunately, I'm having to nurse 20 of them where we ended up using them for SEN students (because budgets were tight) but they haven't held up well at all.

 

Issues like these are usually sorted by unplugging the battery, waiting a few moments and plugging back in. They soon start up again.

 

I wish I could replace the sods, but alas not enough budget to do so.
