"Lost" iPad: Can't DFU

Got a "lost" iPad that isn't responding to being "found". I was going to DFU it, but can't get further than the screen below. Any ideas?

 

 

Also have one that can be left on charge over the weekend but will not turn on. One for the WEE pile, or has someone got a way to resurrect it?

In case anyone is in the same boat, the Microsoft Store App "Apple Devices" did what iTunes wouldn't and recognised the iPad and successfully restored it (on the second attempt).
