We have advised schools not to upgrade until they can confirm that the OCR settings are correct
mcloum Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 I tried the one on the support site but it says its already been imported which it hasnt.
Linfit Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Which release of SIMS are you using ? If you have not updated to Aug release, you can use the basedata from the OCR website, which has been updated although the readme file text has not been changed to reflect this. This basedata will not work if you have done the Auguast update. If you have updated to August there is a version of the basedata that works with Exams 6.66 on Supportnet, it is resource number 14295.
mcloum Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Im still using 7.102 we was given the impression i needed to import the basedata and enter the results before iu upgraded to august release?
Linfit Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Yes, that is correct if you are using the old version of the basdata. One thing that has come up at some schools is that if your academic year doesn't start on the 1st Sept, and the Sept season does, there can be problems. I got round this by editing the season so that it started on the 3rd, which was when our academic year started, and then the basedata imported OK over the top of the old version which I had used for entries.
mcloum Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 *sigh* ok i cant import the old basedata either due to error "Import has already taken place" My helpdesk support guy is out at a school so im in no mans land at the moment
mark80 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Is this just a SIMs issue? Im sure CMIS will have its own issues soon enough
mcloum Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 think its just a sims issue. Sods law that during the august upgrade my SQL server decided to go belly up, now wont start due to missing files.
