Really interesting article written re AI and data systems which I thought of sharing.

 

Question is how much AI are you using within your MIS systems and any experience is welcome on this forum as we all have a vested interest in this.

Regardless of the company publishing the article, I think it's important to recognise that people are at different levels.

 

I read the article and it's nothing new to me either, but that's not to say it isn't a useful article. It's only nothing new to me because I'm keen to try and keep on top of the latest trends in AI. But that's not easy with the current pace of change. Not everyone is in the same boat with ability to keep ahead of the trends or even understanding.

 

Yes, we might be more ahead of the trends given the nature of our roles, but even then, people are at different stages in their careers and experience.

I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and stimulate conversation as I hate the trick of dropping a link saying something is really interesting but giving no context or actual opinion. I was attempting to be polite and inclusive but as no response has been forthcoming I will let rip. The post feels like a generic marketing post to generate clicks, which I don't feel is appropriate on a professional forum and would consider it bordering on spam.

 

May as well go all in and be open and honest, the article is fluff and generic, I wouldn't even pass it on to teaching or office staff as I would say a lot of the article is just wrong and actually perpetuating the myths it claims to be debunking. It isn't even a starter article, it feels like padding, probably generated by AI, to try and garner SEO points for being an authority in an area.

 

It is beneath this forum and one step away from having posts "12 ways how intune can help your network. Number 7 will shock you!!!!!".

The point I think we were making is this is Click Bait marketing trying to get people to join a webinar about AI in schools where they will 99% most likely try and sell you their solution to the 'problem' they tell you about but by providing you with no information on AI in an MIS system in the first place which was the question asked.

It's explicitly mentioning schools time and money, protecting school data, offers webinars around using AI in schools. 😕

Yeah it's a bit wishy-washy and probably not for an edugeek audience.. but let's not misrepresent the content.

The only time the word Education is mentioned is in the advertising of the webinar the click bait is designed to get you to.  The article basically says not a lot about anything.

 

Nor does the article mention anything about MIS systems which you'd expect as it's in the MIS forum.

 

 

We'll just have to agree to disagree, I personally dont like clickbait like this and the internet is becoming saturated by it so some of you must like it, I just don't.

Education takes place in schools. It explicitly mentions school data which is held by an MIS. 

 

If you genuinely think it's misleading and "click bait", complain to Bromcom or the ASA or ask the mods to take it down. 🤷‍♂️

Just to follow up on this. While it might not be of major interest to the tech types on here, for which I apologise. It has been popular as we saw over 600 registrations and some people unable to connect due to overload!
I think that, as with cloud a few years back, there is quite a bit of an understanding gap in the mainstream schools user base,

If there is any appetite for it I can see if the sessions recording is going to be made available for distribution.
