BKGarry Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Hello people. We have nothing but HP Procurve Switches throughout our wisht (including WAPs). But there is still one problem even with these decent switches. Why can still plugging one network cable from one UTP port to the other still bring down the entire network. Does anyone have a clue on how to stop this beinging the whole network down to its knees? Gaz

Geoff Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Yep, turn on STP. Someone with Procurves should be able to tell you exactly where the option is hidden.
plexer Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Telnet to the switch type "menu" if it doesn't default to menu then go to option 2 then option 4 2 - Switch Configuration 4 - Spanning tree operation. Thats for a 2524 something similar elsewhere. Ben
