Adobe CC via an RDS Server

Hi All

 

We use Adobe CC, mainly photoshop but this may expand

 

Mainly Office spec machines, HP 600G1 and others around similar spec

 

This presents a few problems :-

 

• Upgrade schedule will be over a few years, meaning existing machines not suitable to run Photoshop in the real world
  
• Classes might move around
  
• Deployment of Adobe CC to large for existing machines
  

 

Has anyone setup an RDS (or similar) server using Graphics cards to allow clients to render server side?

You 'may' get it to work. But the Adobe forums are littered with comments about apps failing installs, not updating past certain versions when used on a Windows Server OS. We used to run in on Server 2022 RDS install, but have recently removed it when moving to 2025. The user experience was poor anyway.

No mention of Windows server which I would take to mean, isnt supported.

Considering the age of the machines, you won't be running windows 11 on them - is it not worth consolidating the issues there? (end of support this year for 10)

They allow virtualisation on servers but only support you if you can duplicate the issue on a supported os.

The cost of a server & graphics card capable of supporting more than a few clients at once will be more than the cost of replacing an IT suite

Thanks for the link, that actually gives me a bit of ammunition in my battle to justify us not installing it on our RDS solution. We use Shared Device Licensing which is pretty clearly not allowed based on the info on that page.
