Pupil Asset to Bromcom migration

Good morning,

 

I'm not going to go into too much detail here, but I was wondering if this great community could point me in the right direction for some help.

 

My friend works for another trust and there's been an issue with the migration process.

 

I'd like to know if there are any professional companies or recommended individuals that could be hired to do the data migration?

 

This will be fore approx 8 primary schools.

 

Any info/help will be greatly appreciated.

Migrating to Bromcom, I don't even know if that is possible without Bromcom doing it?

 

Unless you're talking about importing data in to an already migrated system?

 

Otherwise, as far as I know it will need to be done by Bromcom.

Bromcom don't migrate you, unless it's from SIMS, which they thought we were on, despite telling them numerous times what our MIS is.

 

This is what's caused the this issue. Go live info etc have been sent out and other comms too.

 

They just sent us x38 .csv files and told us to populate them.

 

The guidance and help has been shocking tbh.

I would cancel the migration until a proper migration plan can be agreed. The method of migration should have been fully fleshed out and agreed befoure you even purchased??

 

Populating 38 CSV files is a recipie for human error and problems moving forward?

Absolutely! That was my advice.

 

However, they don't have the inhouse capacity to to the data dumps/checking either. I have said they need to get a data person in on a fixed term contract to work through it.

 

This is why I'm asking if anyone is aware of any individuals / companies that offer this type of service.

Hello, could you engage a support partner (if you get 3rd party support from sims or another mis) to help. A lot of support partners do SIMS/Arbor and Bromcom and some might for a fee help with report extraction and populating Bromcom blank database... There role could only be something like explained above without taking any data from an MIS in a way which is classed as malpractice.
