Ok got 30 windows xp clients and one SCO Unix server

clients in a workgroup use hyperterminal to connect to unix server

to run specialised software.

Xp clients do every thing else print, email office.

Looking at moving to thin clients is there any reason why that would not work.

Would be buying a new server quad core, 4gb ram, raid 5 disks for windows and Unix server (only 18mnths old) stay as it is.

Looking to reduce size, noise and heat in a confined space.

There's no reason why you couldn't have a thin-client device with two connection options - one for everyday stuff and one for the Unix server connection. Most come with suitable erminal emulators too out of the box.
