Hi,

Our current inventory is on an excel sheet, Its a night mare to find hardware on it and to keep it up to date.

Does any one know where I can download an inventory program that will allow me to search, add price, serial numbers, date ordered, description etc.

Thank you

Yes its free although don't use it here so cant comment on it but I know they are a few on here that do use it. For helpdesk / auditing.

I have used Spiceworks quite abit- It allows you to do everything you're after and it can also add alot of the information automatically by scanning the network. It will also audit software in use, allowing you to keep track of your licening, and error auditing is also thrown in there!

You can run 'reports' which will allow you to print specific data you want, and you can export it to excel if you want to do some of your own formatting. I haven't used the newest version but I can only imagine that they've improved the features!

And it's free :)

Yes you can but the built in reports are not that good. You could set them up as users with read access to the inventory and read/write access to the financial information such as value, depreciation etc. That way they can run there own reports and keep their bits and peices up to date themselves.
