The role

Kensington Prep School has an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional with a strong technical background to play a key operational role within our IT department.

 

As IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring that they are able to support teaching, learning and administration within the school. This will involve:

 

 

  • Managing the reliability, performance and availability of our IT infrastructure
  • Supporting and training staff and students in the use of technology
  • Managing IT investment in line with budgets
  • Understanding the role of technology in education and identifying opportunities for enhancement

This role offers a chance to capitalise on the continued investment in our excellent IT facilities, helping us to become a national leader in junior school IT. You will be offered significant support from the GDST Information Technology Services department and will form a close working relationship with our Head of e-Learning to ensure that IT is thoroughly embedded across the curriculum.

 

About you

We are looking for a strongly motivated and dynamic individual, with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. You will need an ITIL foundation level qualification, as well as an MCSA/MCSE or equivalent. In addition to your strong IT technical background, you will need previous experience of working in education and proven experience of server and network infrastructure. You will also possess an expert understanding of IT Hardware and Software, as well as experience of designing IT systems, managing third party service providers, troubleshooting technical errors, and implementing technologies.
