akidosaint Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 So this ticket has been annoying me for a couple of weeks. So i have ricoh Mp3504 and we recently had System board swapped out. After swap out get a message incompatible USB device detected (card reader plugged into the back of the device) Engineers turns around and say most likely fixed when deploying papercut embedded client. Deploy embedded client. Still broken Ricoh support desk advise go into web interface and put in VID PID into USB devices still same result. USB device is fine i can reader my card when plugged into my laptop Now they are saying log in with machine admin and go to settings system setting the select network/interface. I can't even see settings have i missed something obvious.
MatthewL Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I don't know Ricoh devices but with Sharp you have to delete and re add the card machine to the device, in the web interface for the Ricoh is there a section for card readers?
akidosaint Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 There is but on other device we have it's not pre-populated unless it's in another setting
akidosaint Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Additional info i'm using a legacy / pre-ACT display https://www.ricoh.co.uk/media/welcome%20guide%20v1.12_tcm81-75492.pdf page 18 has details
Chris_Cook Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Have you tried looking at the last post in this thread? https://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/218313-ricoh-im-c300-mfps-anyone-else-got-one.html On recent Ricoh machines the card reader registration (on the device rather than the web interface) is under the network settings. 1

I'd seen that but i'm running an older version of the machine OS where settings is not an option see previous post re OS
akidosaint Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 So Ricoh have finally got their act together and rather than playing email tennis they've advised that smartSDK only works with the USB plugged into control panel\screen tested and working they are sending a engineer to re run usb cable rather than my drag around the edge.
