Cannot Play Media - PowerPoint

We are having an intermittent issues with PowerPoint where multiple users are getting the attached error; 'Cannot Play Media' when trying to play audio files within the slideshow view.

 

It works on PowerPoint online but not on PowerPoint for desktop.

 

We are using the latest version of Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.

Where is the media? Embedded in the PowerPoint, or online?

hello on the app for office 365 i had this as well i put all audio in to one folder and made the file mp4 or wav files that they can play if you need to update office 365 i do it this way winget upgraded --all on command line
