Gmail labels - filters

Does anyone use the Gmail filters to assign labels to specific emails?

 

I'm trying to get some filters to work but I think that the order of the filter rules is affecting the processing of the rules yet articles online state that there is no process order to this, yet i'm seeing different results, as in it's processing the rules from top to bottom and there is no way to re-order the rules.

Yes, I have a fairly long list of filters and labels in use. What is it that you're wanting to do?

I think i've worked it out. I've had to use the - sign to exclude lookup strings from the Subject Contains field.
