firstly apologies if this has been answered before. We as a trust where a huge Sims user but are no a good way through the process of moving to Bromcom, part of my role has entaled having oversight of the assessment build in sims but now im ploughing my way through assessment trrainging and guides in bromcom but i have yet to find anything that covers the annoying issue ive come up against. Making templates (gradesets, marksets, terms etc) in Central, pushing to a site using Vision then attaching classes at a member site. All the marksheets appear to be read only as no data is saved no matter if i try as admin or trying as a teacher using the ability to appear as they have logged in. Anyone had similar results when using vision or know a few quick places to check in central, vision and a local site which may not have been changed from default ?

Probably down to the assessment types, terms, subjects & gradesets.

  • Do they all exist at all schools with the same name and the same AssessmentTypeID / Term ID / Subject ID etc?
  • Did they exist prior to deployment or were you relying on deployment to make them?
  • If you head to each relevant area, has it created all the types etc you'd expect it to have created if they didn't already exist?
  • When you head to a local school and edit one of the marksheets, edit a column and reselect the assessment type & term, does that column on that sheet start working?
  • Is there only one choice of type / term or has the deployment process recreated and therefore duplicated types?

We only use central deployment for the system generated wizard-based bits (ie: Primary Tracker / EYFS / Formative / Summative) not for our own Assessment marksheet setup, as whenever we've tried it it's failed similarly - never really delved any deeper into investigating it as only 2x secondaries here so quicker to just do manually.

ty for the reply just found a "work around"

make as normal in central

push from vision

local school export template / import template

template becomes usable and as long as i dont delete the terms etc the data remains even if i repeat the process.

i really hope that i dont have to do that for 7 year groups over 6 school entities

That wants logging with helpdesk as an issue. Sounds like something isn't mapping correctly when deployed via Vision that DOES map correctly when handled locally... (ie: auto discovery of relevant assessmenttypeid by matching name or similar)

And yes, until it's fixed by helpdesk, you're gonna need to do it for all yeargroups / schools.
