Saw the subject title in the Edugeek iSpy feed. You have no idea of the disappointment I had when I didn't see names like Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Hattie Jacques, Barbara Windsor and a fair few others. Clearly it's a very different genre!

My first thought, too.

 

They did try in 1992 with "Carry On Columbus" which was a flop (though did better in the UK than both Hollywood "Columbus" movies that year).

Apparently there are already sequels planned. The first will see Taron Egerton's wife and co-workers being held hostage at Christmas in a corporate skyscraper by villains whose real plan is to steal valuables from the building, whilst the third will see Egerton team up with Aldis Hodge in a deadly game of "Simon Says" set by the brother of Jason Bateman's character from the first film.
