Word - Mail Merge to PDF

Good morning,

 

Our Admissions team send letters using the mail merge to PDF option in Word but by default it just sends the letters to parents from the individual account belonging to that member of staff.

 

But everyone in that team has permission on a shared Admissions mailbox so is there a way to get the mail merge to PDF function to send from that instead? The only way we have found so far is to manually add the shared account to Outlook (rather than relying on 365 permissions) and then setting it as the default in Outlook account settings before using the mail merge to PDF function in Word.

I have sucessfully used this add in - it wasn't from a Shared Mailbox.

But I presume there is a setting that you can change so that this could work for you.

Mail merges will only send from the primary mail account, the only workaround I've ever seen is to create a secondary Outlook profile, that has the account you want to send from as the primary, and switch to that before the mail merge, and switch back afterwards.

It horrifying how many things we used to be able to do with desktop computers that are now subscription based add-ons.

@bald_pig this is what we found but adding permissions via 365 to the shared mailbox doesn't create a profile which means adding it in manually and that just created more issues because Outlook saw this as a different profile\account and lost some of the settings\config that the user had already applied like categories etc.
