FN-GM Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Can anyone recommend a free, decent & accurate hit counter for joomla please? Something else, but not essential but it would be nice if yo can see the ip addresses of the users who entered the site. This si to see how many have accessed it outside our network. Thanks Z
Michael Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 There are loads of free counters available! Not sure of the best way to track IPs, but I can recommend Google Analytics.
maniac Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) I use StatCounter Free invisible Web tracker, Hit counter and Web stats and there's a handy joomla add-on somewhere to allow you to have the counter displayed in it's own module. (I can't find it on the joomla extensions site now, but I've got a copy if you want to use it.) It's clever too for a free counter, but limited to statistics on only the last 500 hits for the free version. It provides better data than any counter in joomla itself. Mike. somabc Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) I recommend Google Analytics as well, its easy to use, I use it myself. Just place some code in your site / template. Good interface / Analysis and it can email regular reports in various formats to you and your clients to keep them up to date. FN-GM Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 Does anyone know how to get it into joomla please? Thanks

Edu-IT Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Don't bother having one of those free hit counters, they look cheap and tacky. Use Google Analytics as suggested and you'll get all the stats you need.
