ChrisH Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Hi, Does Joomla 1.5 have the ability to allow a certain users to edit a certain page but not others? Thanks Just make them the author or whatever the title is of the page.
FN-GM Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 so if i make them an author of page 3 ,it will restrict them just to change page 3 and not 1 & 2? Can you do this in Joomla 1? Thanks allot
FN-GM Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 Sorry just going to bump this, i would like to make a start on the site tomorrow and would know what version to use.
KarlGoddard Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 im not an expert with joomla but when I was looking at it to replace the school website, permissions or the lack of flexibility / configurability with perms is what made me fire it off google for joomla acl... it may be what you need, it wasn't for me
Dodgex1 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) Users are either author, editor or publisher. Authors can login in the front end and submit an article which you then have to approve and publish via admin back end. Editors can submit new articles and change exsisting articles, would need you to confirm submissions again. Publishers can submit and publish articles without your permission. If you set someone to be the author of a particular article then they will be able to edit that article aswell as submitting new ones. Joomla Docs Massive Joomla related wiki should help.
