A5 Security for Faculty

Good morning all,

 

We recently purchased A5 security for faculty licenses having always had A3 and I was all set to swap over the assignments today because in my head one replaced the other but now I'm looking at it I see the A5 security for faculty service plan only has a few products listed so am I supposed to assign these A5 security for faculty licenses on top of the existing A3 or instead of?

If it is just A5 Security, and not the full A5 license, then yes you assign as well as.

 

It is the full A5 then you would assign instead of

Making sense to me now.

 

Do you know if I have to make new assignment groups for the A5 bit? Will it complain of a clash if A3 is assigned to "all staff" group and then A5 is assigned to "all staff" group or is it intelligent enough in the background to combine the two licenses?

You can assign to same group. As it’s an upgrade license there will be no clashing products.

Looks like it literally has to be the same group though, I'm trying to assign A5 to an "A5 Group" that contains all the same users as the "A3 Group" that's assigned to A3 but it complains that the A5 group hasn't been assigned some of the dependencies that it needs from the A3 licensing.
