Afternoon all,

Does anyone have the Copilot button in their Edge browser for Work/School accounts in Edge?

I have it against my home profile in Edge but not on my work profile and a few people have asked about it.

Checked online and not finding any useful information on this when it comes to education tenants.

We had to allow the copilot extension ids for it to start showing up and working correctly for us.

Copilot or Discover browser extension not working as expected for managed Edge browser - Microsoft Community Hub

I played with it today and couldn't believe how bad it was. I'd been using Google Gemini to investigate Copilot licensing and thought it might be worth going to the source to cross check. I had to ask three different ways to get it to differentiate between Copilot Pro and Copilot for 365 and as soon as I mentioned "tenancy" it got sidetracked with information about leasehold properties. When I asked about what I actually got for £300 it told me that was a digital riddle... I can't remember the exact wording - it was actually pretty funny, if totally useless - because I had to speak to a customer for 10 minutes and when I went back the entire chat history was gone.

Utterly useless and reminded me why I stick to Gemini

I do want to work out setting it to not use corporate data as training material.

Leg,end!

Of course, I didn't think of it as an extension as I saw it as more an add-on or even part of Edge as it doesn't sit in the extension area next to the address/search field but that makes sense now!

Will give it a go tomorrow because of course I block all extensions and only allow ones I trust for users by ID.
