Dos_Box Posted July 1, 2025 Posted July 1, 2025 I'm off to see this in IMAX tonight, I'll let you all know how it went tomorrow
Dos_Box Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I have to say, it was a very good film, not at the same level as Ford v Ferrari in terms of acting and drama, but certainly a great way to spend an evening. The race scenes are beautifully shot and if I had one gripe, it's that it didn't need the brief romantic bit, and it could have been half an hour shorter. I booked tickets at midday yesterday and about 10% of the screen had sold, it was 3/4 full last night. It's supposed to be on a limited release (Apple TV production) but may extend its run, so I'd catch it whilst you can.
jthompson Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 Looking forward to seeing it at some point, although Steve McQueen's Le Mans is my benchmark for motorsport movies, closely followed by Rush. Ford V Ferrari was good, but the Le Mans scenes were noticebly filmed elsewhere (Road Atlanta?), so it lacked something essential.
Fazza Posted July 7, 2025 Posted July 7, 2025 Saw it at the weekend, excellent film! Such a great story it felt like it was based on a true story, but it isn't - well worth a watch at the cinema.
6Foot2 Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Link: Brad Pitt blockbuster F1 sequel in the works, producer Jerry Bruckheimer tells the BBC - BBC News Quote Lights out and away we go - again! A sequel to the Brad Pitt blockbuster F1 is officially in the works, the film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer has told the BBC. The film, co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, is nominated for four Oscars this year – including best picture. Pitt, 62, stars as veteran driver, Sonny Hayes, who returns to the Formula 1 grid with the fictional team APXGP after a long absence. Speculation about a possible sequel has been circulating for months but had not previously been confirmed, including during Apple TV's press day last week, where the film is streaming. Speaking to the BBC at the annual Academy Awards luncheon in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Bruckheimer said: "We're working on a sequel." The producer declined to give a timeline for the project or confirm casting details, including whether Pitt would reprise his role. But Bruckheimer added that he would "of course" be involved in casting decisions...
