Teams - Town Hall Meeting

Good afternoon,

 

Has anybody used the Town Hall meeting function in Teams and invited external attendees?

 

I can see it does external presenters but when I type an external address for inviting an attendee it seems to search our directory and not find the user (rightly) but then it doesn't just accept the typed address?

I used it last week for a number of consultations with internal and external people for some of our schools.

 

I think in the end I let them join as an attendee, then I upped their permission to a presenter once they were in the meeting.
