[23h2] Windows 11 Media creation Tool for USB

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm just struggling to get my head around this and wondering if you guys have the answer.

 

When I'm trying to create a Media tool to a USB on my windows 11 device it fails instantly to create.

 

However when I use the same device but with Windows 10 on it creates perfectly.

 

Has anyone else had this Issue?

 

I've tried with multiple windows 11 devices and it fails on any of them.

 

Would love to hear if there's a simple fix or if I'm being silly

If it's any help, I found Ventoy to be very useful:

Lets you create a bootable USB stick with multiple ISOs on - just copy the ISO over, when you boot from the USB stick you get a handy menu allowing you to pick which ISO you want to boot from. Means you can have Windows 10 and 11 ISO on the same stick, along with other OSes if you want. Also makes the process of adding things like custom unattaned.xml files for Windows installation nice and simple.

+1 for Ventoy. You can also partition the disk and use that partition for other things - I have a "Portable Apps" partition.

 

Rufus is also good if you just want to have a single OS USB.

Just echoing what others have said.

 

Ventoy is perfect for a larger USB stick, I keep Windows 10 ISOs, Windows 11 ISOs, Server ISOs, MDT LiteTouch ISO, Ubuntu etc all in one place - all bootable directly. That in combination with Snappy Driver Installer. Another one that's always handy to have with you just incase

 

For creating a dedicated Windows 10/11 USB; you can't beat Rufus. It even has the options to strip the silly install checks for you, which is a nice touch.
