maxrebo Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 Hi, Over the last week or so users have noted that staff can see other staff members queued print jobs when attempting to release their print jobs, sent through the Follow me virtual printer, Nothing has changed on our Papercut setup, that im aware of. Has anyone any ideas where to check why all users can see each others jobs? Regards
Olliedawg Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 What rights do your users have to the print queue? Are you using a windows print server?
Michael Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 This is possible if you've configured delegate printing in some form. I do exactly this for Staff > Pupil AD groups, but this means Staff can see any child's print jobs but not the other way round! I'd have a look at group memberships as a starting point.
MrDsIT Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 I changed all our print jobs to Hidden a while back, so that I didn't have to keep checking on any Active Directory changes - Papercut have useful instructions on how to do this if interested - have highlighted link https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/HideDocumentNameOnWindowsPrinters/#:~:text=the%20failure%20event.%E2%80%9D-,Change%20document%20names%20to%20%5BHIDDEN%5D%20using%20PaperCut,set%20this%20for%20one%20printer%20or%20for%20an%20entire%20print%20server.,-Change%20document%20names
