SJ98 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Hi all, We're having major issues at the moment with our network printers around the school. When I try to print to the spool, Word will freeze for about 5-10 seconds, and then you can see in the bottom right of Word that each page is being spooled very slowly compared to the normal speed, and we can't diagnose it as we can't see what's making it slow. This is affecting people who need documents that are 20+ pages long printed as the spool is taking much longer than it should do. Is there anything we can do to get around this? Thanks, Sam
Sylv3r Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Are you a SENSO user - if so have you seen the other posts on here regarding slow network / printing with a recent SENSO client change?
SJ98 Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 Hi Sylv3r, We use Senso.Cloud as our monitoring software for client PCs, yes. I have not seen any posts relating to Senso and printing clashing - what's happened? Thanks, Sam
Sylv3r Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 I am not saying it's 100% this, but it sounds very likely. https://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/237897-sims-slow-load-excruciating-across-three-different-schools.html https://senso.freshstatus.io/incident/929533
Sylv3r Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 As a quick test - stop the senso service or remove the client from one machine and try print - might be the first port of call. 1
SJ98 Posted May 14, 2024 Author Posted May 14, 2024 Hi Again, After turning off the Senso service on my PC, it did indeed start to work normally. This is frustrating! I would never have expected Senso to be the underlying issue here. Have they made any further developments since the posts above? Thanks, Sam
