TheHyperTechie Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Hi All, Looking for some advice. It appears that our Behringer RX1202FX sound mixer has given up today, it has done well (since 2008!) I am in the market for a replacement, but this is where I am not really knowledgeable in terms of this kind of equipment. I want to just swap it out for something very similar so it doesn't involve much user involvement (from me lol) I was tempted to just buy an exact copy of the model that failed? Can anyone recommend an alternative? TIA.
russlp Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 They do a V2 of that one if you really did want to keep it (almost) like for like: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-Eurorack-RX1202FX-V2-Pro-Mixer/3LXS 1

I have actually seen that available, and it is my first choice! Can you vouch for the website at all?
russlp Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 No problem, yes they are fine our music dept use them often. I think you can just send a PO but might need to register for an Educational account first.

Net_Man Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 We are using a Cloud Z4 MK4 mixer which seems to have less functionality and about 4x the price that has been going since 2015 https://cpc.farnell.com/cloud/z4mk4ek/z4-mk4-ek-venue-mixer/dp/DP34974 very good quality but shame about the price
SamanthaD Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 How much control do you need? If none after setup then perhaps an audio matrix mixer with no user interface might be better, we use the Extron DMP range for "set and forget" installs in our lecture theatres to great effect. Otherwise tablet controlled devices like the Behringer X-Air range are pretty good (don't use the in-built Wi-Fi though, it's awful!) Alternatively - have you looked to repair your Behringer unit? We used lots of these and found there was an issue with the power supply - replacing a power cap that cost a few pennies each fixed a lot of issues for us....
AndrewPowell Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 If you're happy with what you have, then i'd go with the same thing again. Dan @ GAK education is always very competitive on price and is a lovely guy to boot. Gak.co.uk
