ThomL Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Or, have a look at Wonde's API (available to end-user schools) then update your scripts to match that. Do you know if there is a fee attached to Wonde API usage as an end-user school?
jthompson Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Do you know if there is a fee attached to Wonde API usage as an end-user school? IIRC it's about £300 and then £10 per month per school thereafter. We use ours for a whole bunch of different projects now. User provisioning/deprovisioning is one, but we also have various other little spreadsheets and AppSheet apps where a list of staff is automatically maintained, etc. We use SIMS so don't have an MIS with a proper API, but it's nice to know that our custom apps are MIS-agnostic and won't be a reason for not switching MIS at some point. 2
howartp Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Do you know if there is a fee attached to Wonde API usage as an end-user school? I enquired at christmas and now have access to the developer area and their "testing" school for me to develop against - this part is free. Once I'm happy that I can get what I want (and I have time to sit down and play!) I can "Add" my own school to my dev account just like a 3rd party would, and at that point I think I start getting billed. I've not got that far yet. Peter 1
TechMonkey Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 I went with Locker, after having been a happy Salamander customer for many years at a previous job, as Salamander couldn't fit us in and we needed it sorted. Locker is a fantastic solution run by fantastic staff, the same as Salamander, but Locker is very much geared towards a single school doing straight forward processes. By this I mean it does not look at a lot of iSAMS fields so cannot carry out logic against them. Our use case for this was we have a prep school and a senior school, we want new users labelled as what school they are at for dynamic grouping within Entra. Locker cannot do this for staff so we have to manually go into a user after they are created and add Senior or Prep, no biggie but it is an extra manual step in an otherwise automated process. Both great products but it is horses for courses. 2
