Morning all

Is it possible to have the Push to Exit Buttons set to operate only at certain times?

Reason for question is a long one, so just wanted to know if possible - via Paxton or by some other external means.

Cheers

You could move the exit button to another input then use and trigger and action to open the door, which can work on a schedule. However it requires the server to be on to work and has a small delay. So could result in it failing to open the door.

In the Net2 software you can set the operating mode to be on a timed operating mode. I have no direct experience of this but my understanding is that the 'reader' in that channel can be set to be inactive during that timezone, or if the reader is set to inactive by default, that it is active during that timezone.

Good idea - but reader 1 and 2 are both in use, so not sure this would be possible.

Thank you EduGeeker!

You pointed me in the right direction - Tiggers and Alarms https://www.paxton-access.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AN1067-ZA.pdf

Going to give the following a try.........

Set the push button not to open the door via Doors -> Alarms -> Do not unlick door when exit button is pressed.

Set a trigger so when a push button is pressed on those doors during a timezone, it unlocks the door.

Fingers Crossed.

Sadly this didn’t work.

You can use another input such as the tamper input or door locked status. Then use that as your input for the trigger & action.

I suspect if the exit button is wired to the exit button input, it'll be hardcoded on the Net2 board to open when pressed. I seem to think I've come across that myself in the past.

Paxton got back to me with the following information - which works a treat.

Please see the details below on disabling an exit button at a specific time:

The diagram below can be followed for sites that would like to disable the exit button at certain times.

Simply set the reader action to "Relay 1 and Relay 2 open for door open time" then apply a timezone for Relay 2 when you'd like the exit button to be disabled.

I set up a time zone where I added times where the button is disabled and I am one happy bunny.

Cannot fault Paxton support.

  • Thanks 3
