APC Warranty Ending

Bought the APC Smart-UPS 1000 back in 2021 and it's been working fine with no problems whatsoever. Now the warranty is ending in May do other schools renew the warranty or go on without one and if you did renew what sort of cost was it?

Generally as with most warranties, it isn't worth it as the yearly cost you spend over 5 years would simply fund an entirely new device.

 

Yes it could fail tomorrow and you'll get your moneys worth.

 

Yes it might not ever fail and you've just thrown your money away.

Bought 2 2nd hand units, not had one fail. Almost cheaper to buy a 2nd hand unit and a compatible battery than jus a new APC battery on its own.

We bought a second hand unit off ebay and it just needed some new batteries which the seller forked out for. Cost us next to nothing for it!

 

This replaced a unit that was nearly 20 years old which went bang during a self test.
