Spec me a non interactive 60"+ screen :)

Have a school after a single screen for a room where touch/interactivity isn't required. Thinking a 60" TV may even do, but obviously it's going to be on for 8 hours a day etc.

 

What panels have people used with success in similar situations please?

6+ hours per day, you'd be looking at something along the lines of digital signage. Displays that have management and are made to work those long hours.

We've been using the Panasonic TH-**CQE2U series displays in a couple of different sizes for digital signage since about 2016, so they're on 8-9 hours every weekday. Only problem we've ever is that they keep forgetting the time and date settings.

Even if you don't want the interactivity, touchscreens tend to have toughened glass that on larger screens is a big plus. Anything 65" and over for us is interactive, whether we use it as such or not.

Just had a chat with the head and the requirements have changed, or I've just been fully updated on them anyway. Turns out they just want a 42" TV to play the odd video on, so I'll just point them to a decentish TV and let them crack on with it.

If it's going in a classroom, it might still be worth looking at the commercial large format displays as they'll cope better with any rough and tumble. But they would be coming in about twice the price of similarly specked TV from a recognised brand.

We have used standard consumer tvs in most of our offices and a few classrooms. Never had issues with damage or faults - They are not "designed" for the environment but if you are happy with the risks they can be an cost effective option. Most of our classrooms have Interactive TVs
