sigma Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Our scheduled reports have stopped running yet again. For us this is the safeguarding blocked requests and search keyword reports. They last ran on Friday. Ticket raised on Monday 8:45am and I'm staill awaiting a response. Anyone else having this problem? 1

Only just noticed after reading your post. 1
sigma Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 (edited) Still not working here. Do they take safeguarding seriously I wonder? (They did respond to my ticket within an hour of me posting the problem here. It was still over 24 hours after it was raised though). Edited February 1, 2024 by sigma
sigma Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 Apparently, this is affecting multiple schools and has been escalated to Netsweeper. I could take an educated guess about the problem...
sigma Posted February 2, 2024 Author Posted February 2, 2024 Looks fixed and back to normal. Many thanks to SBB for that. Whilst accepting that there will always be issues, SBB would show themselves in a much better light if they were a bit more pro-active when a problem affects multiple users particularly noting that anything related to "safeguarding" is not trivial. Nothing was reported regarding this issue on the Hub Status Portal. Had it been, it would have eliminated at least one support ticket and saved customer and supplier time in raising and responding to it. 1
sigma Posted February 6, 2024 Author Posted February 6, 2024 Well, that worked for 2 days, and 8 hours later, not even acknowledgement of the support ticket.
Mr.Ben Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 The whole shared Netsweeper thing just seems like it can't cope with the load being put on it. With our ISP we have our own Netsweeper instance (for 50 schools) and don't seem to have any issues. 1
Primus Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 There are a few things surprising relating to this, none of them are that SB are still offering a poor level of service, a couple of the surprising things are: 1. They still have customers 2. They're still a sponsor of EduGeek

Primus Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 Point 1 is a mystery to me. Point 2 is down to money. Unfortunately running a site like this isn’t cheap and nothing is free in life. True but blindly accepting money can harm an organisation, it worries me that EduGeek are so willing to accept SB as a sponsor, have them speak at conferences etc - it allows SB to play upon this, it's all marketing and ultimately EduGeek are being used by SB for commercial gains whilst SB provide a terrible standard of service to schools over a very extended period.
Mr.Ben Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 From experience the CEO of the company is probably tied up trying to influence the outcomes of tenders that they have lost, rather than concentrating on the service that they provide.
WannabrewUK Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Well, that worked for 2 days, and 8 hours later, not even acknowledgement of the support ticket. I can confirm ours have stopped working as well. I've reopened my support ticket with SBB.
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 @WannabrewUK and @sigma I've messaged you both back. I won't get dragged into the other comments which are fundamentally incorrect and by the usual people. Thank you though to all our customers who do continue to use our services and re-sign of their own free will year after year. Dave 2
