iDRAC 9 & iLO 5

Afternoon all,

 

Trying to get SMTP alerts (Alert Mail as HP calls it) working on iLO 5. Not having much luck so far. I have another server, which has iDRAC & the alerts on this are working no issue.

 

Using the same configuration, I cannot get the mail alerts to work on the iLO.

 

We use Office 365 for mail, no on prem exchange. SMTP Auth is enabled for the serveralerts mailbox/user i'm using on iDRAC.

 

From what i've read iLO 5 should support this, anyone else using 365 for alerts on iLO?

 

*edit* : Checking logs on the firewall under port 587 I can't even see any traffic from our iLO on port 587. I can however see traffic for iDRAC.

 

*edit2* : iLO NIC DNS was incorrect. Set correct DNS server & rebooted iLO. I am now seeing traffic from iLO IP over port 587 when performing an alertmail test, however no mail sent. Nothing in quarantine either

I'd try updating iLO 5 to the latest version 3.0.0 (what I use) as it also supports 2FA.

 

I did have an issue at one site whereby I had to toggle 2FA for an account off and then back on in O365 Admin, then it worked fine.

I'll give that a try too, ours is on 2.72 at the moment.. Making progress as I could actually see the traffic go through the firewall on 587.
