martinpage23 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Morning all, can i ask if anyone else in kent has a cantium eisnet network in their school and also uses broadband4 or schools broadband with netsweeper? if you do do you ever have the issue of the netsweeper client not loading up sometimes on the class desktops etc so when the staff go to login to emails or youtube it says its blocked and when you like the client has not loaded up. The staff then restart their computer and it sometimes comes back. It only seems to be on eisnet schools . any one ????? Ta
Accura2k7 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Martin, Can I suggest you set a GPO to run the client using task scheduler after login/delayed start. This wont break eisnet and should do the trick.

Ta EISNet will have no effect on this; it just a startup script that runs on top of Windows at startup. Is the NetSweeper a script or a service? If it's a service, set it to "Automatic Start (Delayed)" and test it. If it then works you can create a GPO to set this on all of your devices. The EISNet service is set to start this way for the same reason. Oh! and Hi! Martin! Edited January 15, 2024 by johnfermor
Ciadelta16 Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 Good morning. I too have an EISNet network in Kent. We are in the process of transitioning over to Netsweeper so will keep an eye on this.
johnfermor Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 (edited) I have now migrated 4 schools to MGfL which all use NetSweeper. I haven't seen this behaviour on any of their EISNet networks. I did see something similar to the OP though and this was down to the old version of the nMonitor client that was sent to us. We kept seeing intermittent "Your connection isn't private" notifications on known 'good' sites (such as office.com) but pressing F5 reloads the page correctly. Devices without the nMonitor client (office admin, etc) were unaffected. Just ensure you deploy the latest client. Best of luck. Edited January 24, 2025 by johnfermor
PaddyNewman Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 Use latest version 4.50 and make sure you set wagent service to automatic start as a service GPO. It's installed but I bet it's set to manual in services. No idea why, it does it often enough though.
