cburrows Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 We have had 2 members of staff one wanting to watch a live youtube stream and the other wanting to watch a live recording of an event on youtube and both get a message saying 'network administrator restrictions'. We have checked their google accounts and restricted mode is off i have added the url to our SWGfL staff list (Youtube isnt filtered for staff). works fine for me as an admin (i guess it would) so i am thinking its a group policy somewhere but cant find anything to do with Youtube and the google Chrome Group policy is huge. I does the same for Edge too. Anyone Else had this and if so what settings in Group Policy did you change. Thanks
Ex-MGSTech Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 have you tried Group policy modelling? Should tell you what policies apply to whom
Zombie_Tech Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Do you use GSuite (Google Workspace) ? If staff sign into Google using a school email address and it's linked to GSuite (Google Workspace) then it might need to be enabled in there. Does it work if you try in an In private Window.
robintech Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) chrome://policy should show it , sounds like restricted mode set by GPO on the computer https://chromeenterprise.google/policies/?policy=ForceYouTubeRestrict Edited November 7, 2023 by ittech2342323
cburrows Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 fixed, we found a setting within our SWGfL youtube settings of which we have 3 REstricted, Mostly Restricted and Unrestricted. Our Staff Policy was set to Mostly Restricted. so changed it to Unrestricted and all working. Thanks for the suggestions though
