Mr_Jiminy Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 We're looking to make the switch to A3 licenses and go serverless. Can you good people shed light on what license type you're using for supply staff? I'm referring to short term as well as long term supply cover.
Rob_D Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Long term cover would get A3 if they're on a fixed contract with the school, otherwise supply teachers get A1 licenses. (But we're not fully serverless)
Mr_Jiminy Posted October 27, 2023 Author Posted October 27, 2023 We're having to factor in student teachers also. So our take, is a reserve bank of A3's, which might seem utterly ridonculous, but it seems the approach to mitigate the potential headsaches of having to remind the purse strings how Microsoft 365 licensing works.
MisterTechMan Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 All our staff (teaching, admin, facilities etc) have an A3 licence and the defender P2 add on. Our cleaners have an A1 license, and we also park our leavers on A1's to keep the account active for a short while after they leave. https://m365maps.com/ is great for comparing licensing

Makes sense to me. We set up student teachers pretty much the same as a normal teacher. 1
ITGuyNW Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Has anyone arranged A3 licensing themselves? Do they do a type of offer where you get say 100 staff but then give you the students free? We have M365 and A1 here but want to move to A3 for the additional features next year.

For example, 222 A3 licenses gave us a total of 8,880 A3 for student licences. 1
