In the run-up to holidays, teachers would often ask me if I knew of resources they could show their students instead of "boring" curriculum based materials to make the end of term(s) a little more entertaining.

 

This is one of those items, an interactive version of a very old puzzle is something that I would have been offered as just such a resource. I expect it would have generated some lively classroom discussions about the "correct" answer.
