The great teaspoon mystery

I want to know how teaspoons change from one type to another. For example, you could buy a pack of 8 new teaspoons and put them in your cutlery drawer.

Within three months, at least 4 will have developed designs and shapes different from their siblings. And breed.

we have a single teaspoon and it has "Property of Ramsey Street" engraved on it

 

we have no idea why

 

neither of us have ever watched Neighbours (or whatever Aussie it comes from) and none of our relatives have either

 

It seems to have appeared in my wifes cutlery drawer (before we were married) from a different - but similar - universe where she liked Aussie soaps
