nicholab Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 We are getting a power flush Nad have the option of getting a magnetic filter fitted it looks like it will be an extra £350 taking the total to at least a £1k. Is this to be expected for a 15 radiator system? Also would you recommend a magnetic filter for a heating system it not super hard water.
MatthewL Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I think the parts are only 1/2 of that but if I was installing a new system I would put one in now. 1
ticktock Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 We have a magnaclean which is checked during the annual service. Traps the nasties before they get in your boiler. Don't think it was too expensive at the time but it was fitted a few years back.
timbo343 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Always best to get a magna clean kit installed but get the to put it where it can be serviced. I have a massive big black one which took up so much room but it did a great job as filtering out all the metal shards from the system. Ive now got an inline one which i think does it's job and gets serviced at every boiler service. Make sure they put some fernex in the system too as this keeps the system healthy too.
