Brax Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Hi all, For anyone who has 1:1 iPad schemes rolled out. How do you effectively asset manage apple pencils? Especially for students who have lost theirs or have had theirs stolen? Do you have a replacement policy?
DaveTheTech Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I remember in my last place that it is possible with an app. IIRC, it took a bit of walking around - it acted like a metal detector. Id suggest buying a class set of pens, then when students loose them they can get a replacement the first time, then its 50% then full price. But you'd need the schools backing.

I don't fancy metal detecting all day though lol. Thank you I'll make a note of that SLT can't decide on a strategy...
RLR Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Hi all, For anyone who has 1:1 iPad schemes rolled out. How do you effectively asset manage apple pencils? Especially for students who have lost theirs or have had theirs stolen? Do you have a replacement policy? We only give our staff Apple Pencils and they have asset tags on. If a member of staff needs a replacement then they get an old one (luckily this doens't happen often). Students do bring their own Apple Pencils in and we do get a lot handed in wihout names or anything on. We ask students to bring their original box in or if they can get the serial number of the pen, then we can check it with the box of Apple Pencils we have.
gaz350b Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Any reason people are using apple pencils and not a 3rd party one?
