yjgygyufgvfghfh Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 (edited) Hullo! So I probably over think this but I create a controlled assessment AD user for every specific subject that needs one. When that account logs on, it asks for the user to login via a PowerShell form, then creates a home area for them and maps to a shared area specific to that assessment. Works well and means there's a place staff can drop files and access the students work. The only issue is while they can't get online, the account does get a local OneDrive folder meaning they could save there and another user potentially access the files. Any idea how to get around that? My, probably horrible, script attached!controlledAssessments.ps1 Edited October 3, 2023 by yjgygyufgvfghfh
yjgygyufgvfghfh Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 I need to for the user to get an Office licence though. However I only assign that group Office - no SharePoint or Exchange etc so they don't have a OneDrive folder. The local machine just assumes they do and creates on by default in c:\users\{username} Problem there is, as they all use the same username for a specific ca, they could use that location to share files. Incredibly unlikely, but possible and we all know how quickly exams officers jump on us if anything goes slightly wrong.
mavhc Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 ah, so everyone doing English CA at the same time is using the same account? I've created an exam account for each student
yjgygyufgvfghfh Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Yeah, so we've got 3 CA accounts for 3 different subjects. We log the room on as that account and they get a pop up to auth, which then re-maps H: drive etc. Though it was a way to save time and it kinda works, just this issue with OneDrive making me paranoid.
EBrooke Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Can't you revoke the OneDrive app portion of the user's license or place the users in a dynamic license assignment group that assigns your license without the OneDrive app? You could also look into the registry key DisableFileSyncNGSC but I believe that's Local Machine only so probably not very helpful to you.
