I'm currently trying to link our SIMS to google, for a few reason but mainly so teachers don't need to set up every google classroom induvial students.7

I've found this online https://id.sims.co.uk/support/wiki/141#brown-field-sites-google-provisioning-user-matching

It's asking to set up a Google Tenancy, am I correct in saying this is through google cloud which is something we would have to pay for?

If anyone has completed this successfully and let me know how they got on that would be amazing

Thanks in advance

I don't think you can link SIMS directly to Google. You would have to create a script to pull a report from SIMS and then script the creation of classes/accounts/teachers via Google's API (GAM Advanced). I strongly recommend looking into getting Salamander as they can do all this and a lot more and is only around £1000 a year.

I wouldn't trust ESS to do this. There are companies who will create the Google Classroom courses for you, based on the data in SIMS. They will also create user accounts too if you need that. Salamander is one that we used to use. We do this kind of thing ourselves now, using Powershell. We did use SIMS ID, not for account and Classroom creation but for signing in to ESS's own products (SIMS Parent, SIMS Options etc.) and it's really not a good product. It comes with ESS's usual level of support too.

You simply need to purchase or create a product that extracts data from SIMS and creates users and Google Classrooms based on that data. Other people will have other recommendations. No one will recommend SIMS ID.
