Merry Christmas I've been asked to disable spell check for exams on a laptop so students can't re-enable it. It seems there isn't a group policy for this anymore? Has anyone got any solution for what I can do? Thanks for all your help Rob

Hi We've got a juniper box onsite and that has a direct connection to the open reach line. He is after our WAN: IP Address, Subnet mask and default gateway. I've got the IP address(thank you so much for that) but is there any way of getting the other details Thanks again Rob

Hi We are getting Smoothwall Filtering installed tomorrow and I've been trying all week to get our WAN details from RM and all they do is tell me it's not needed but our Smoothwall Install Engineer is insisting is it. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Anything I can do to get these details without getting them from RM? Thanks

Hi This sounds like a very newb question but I've hit a brick wall already. Our school is using google for everything but we have purchased completely separate domain name for our new trust. For the trust we would like to use Microsoft, 365 how would I go about setting up a whole new domain in Microsoft, everything I find seems to be regarding transferring an existing domain over to Microsoft. I was looking to start the whole thing from scratch, is that possible? I assume this is still free for education Any you help you could give me would be amazing! I'm currently trying to link our SIMS to google, for a few reason but mainly so teachers don't need to set up every google classroom induvial students.7 I've found this online https://id.sims.co.uk/support/wiki/141#brown-field-sites-google-provisioning-user-matching It's asking to set up a Google Tenancy, am I correct in saying this is through google cloud which is something we would have to pay for? If anyone has completed this successfully and let me know how they got on that would be amazing Thanks in advance Rob

Hi Thanks for replying so quickly, really great of you. Is this the "Forward Lookup Zones" if so then yes we've got a record in there for school.kent.sch.uk. Do I have to add a new forward to an A record or something like that?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me, we have got a new website on a .org.uk address and we used an old address that was identical but ending in .kent.sch.uk that we now use to redirect to the new site. Out side of our network this works correctly but if someone was to put in .kent.sch.uk inside school we would be getting various messages saying the site is unsecure and also 404 errors. Would this have anything to do with our network originally being set up with the same name as the website? I've checked and there are now IIS servers running on the network so I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this isn't working?! any help anyone can give me would be massively gratefully received Thanks Rob

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I've added a new IP range in my school super scope and made it live this morning. The addresses were being distributed fine and I found several devices had an addresses from this pool but they were unable to access the network or the internet. Just wondering what I've made a pigs ear of here? Many Thanks Rob

Hi Just wondering if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction. We used to use RM portico so that staff and student can access their network drives off site but that has reached end of life and we've changed serve and they won't reinstall it for us. So we are looking for another solution. Does anyone have any suggestions? We use GSuit so if it could link with that would be great but not essential, oh yeah cheaper the better Any help anyone can give me would be amazing? Thanks in advance Rpb

two of us have been using google remote desktop inside school for a few months now and it's all been working fine. I've been setting more and more people up with it until we've got about 15 on site now. Unfortunately it has stopped working yesterday. It all works perfectly if both devices are inside the network or if both devices are outside just not remoting in from outside Has anyone got any suggestions? - I've been in contact with RM and they haven't been able to sort it as yet Thanks in advance for any help you can give me Rob

Hi All We are using G Suit and I was wondering if it was possible for us to restrict a group so that students could not E-mail the "allstudents" group despite being a member of it whilst still letting staff E-mail it, who are not a memeber? Hi Darren Yes I can confirm it is version 1.8 version of Portico. We've installed it on 3 different servers and it always returns the same message, two have been 2008r2 and on 2012r2. Is that group a local group or is it supposed to show up in Active Directory Thank you for getting back to me, I really appreciate it Rob
