We are running version 4. I heard I'll need to go 4>5>6 in that order. Right now we have it running on a workstation with backup exports going to a server... this I want to change. Makes sense really as at each level the door entry points do a firmware upgrade (AFAIK). What are peoples experiences doing this? Thank you 5nowman Edited April 4, 2025 by 5nowman
hallamke Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 We upgraded from v4 to v5 then v6. Not tried the v4 to v6 route but would be surprised if it didn't work as v4 Paxton Pro users would need to buy a v5 licence as well as v6. I don't think you can downgrade after upgrading due to the firmware being incremented with each version as 5nowman says 😉
mullet_man Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 I just needed the client install (provided by a fellow Edugeeker) but it's not working for me. It's telling me my password is wrong when I know it's not. Am no Net2 expert and the running of it is managed by our building owners but I have the client on my PC so I can sort stuff access out. The only thing I can think of is my client is newer than the server instance and that's the issue? I'll work it out at some point!
pete Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 If your client is too new, you'll see something like "Incompatible version [vX.XX]" if you enabled server browsing when installing the client (see attached). Upper redacted server is online and the same version as the client. Lower redacted server is online, but an older version.

Thanks Pete, I got this message originally when I downloaded from the Paxton URL and installed V6 client, so I reached out for an older V5 one and I don't see that error message, I just get the password is wrong error, when I know it's not.
